Advancing Health Equity Where It Matters Most
A status-neutral continuum of care.NAESM is an Atlanta-based organization dedicated to HIV prevention, care, and advocacy for Black gay men, Black transgender women, and LGBTQ+ communities of color. Founded over three decades ago, NAESM operates on a status-neutral framework — test → treat / test → prevent — providing affirming, comprehensive care regardless of HIV status.

Syndemic Care in ActionBehavioral health services are co-located with HIV testing using a trauma-informed care approach. 76 total clients served across Ryan White, behavioral health, and substance abuse programs. Services are delivered through doctoral-level supervision and peer-driven case review ensuring continuity across mental health, substance use, and Ryan White programming.

NPower365 is NAESM’s digital extension of the status-neutral care model — a private community app where clients access resources, schedule testing and PrEP appointments, and connect with peers year-round. 79% of registered users are active community members, demonstrating retention that traditional social platforms cannot match.
NPower365 gives NAESM a direct, owned digital channel. Every interaction feeds back into care navigation and prevention follow-up — extending conference engagement well beyond the event itself.

CRIBB Program Impact
Capacity Building & Community Research
The CRIBB (Creating Responsible Intelligent Black Brothers) program continues to develop the next generation of HIV prevention leaders through structured mentorship, learning hours, and community-driven projects.
CRIBB is not a training program — it is a pipeline. Fellows move from classroom to clinic to community, carrying NAESM’s status-neutral care model into the neighborhoods most affected by HIV. Every fellow completes a community project grounded in their lived experience, ensuring interventions are designed with the community, not for it.

Housing as HIV Infrastructure
Four programs across the housing continuum — emergency, transitional, supportive, and navigationHousing is HIV care. People without stable housing are nearly twice as likely to fall out of HIV care, and viral suppression rates drop sharply for clients managing housing instability. NAESM operates four housing programs as a unified continuum — from emergency stabilization through transitional placement, supportive case management, and tenancy preparation — built around the syndemic reality that HIV, mental health, substance use, and housing cannot be addressed separately.

HIV care continuity — testing engagement, ART adherence, viral suppression maintained while housed.
Cross-service uptake — housing clients connected to behavioral health, substance use support, and Ryan White medical care.
Every metric is captured at the client level inside NAESM's case management system and aggregates into the funder reporting cycle.
NAESM's Signature Conference
One Community.NAESM's signature conference convenes public health professionals, community leaders, and people living with HIV. 218 attendees in 2025, with a 2026 goal of 300 — a 37% increase driven by deeper funder engagement and expanded peer-led programming.
